Opportunities
These cards represent requests or help from the townsfolk of Forestvale. Heroes receive them overtime someone else kills a monster. There are a few ways to play Opportunities:
• Positive Effect: The top verbiage of the card will help you to attain your goal.
• Negative Effect: The bottom verbiage of the card will mostly hurt other players.
• Monster Weakness: The upper left of the card may have a Monster weakness symbol. That means that a player may use this card as that symbol instead of its Positive or Negative use.
• Solo: If you are not playing the “Solo” version of the game then ignore this purple box. Solo Opportunities are also denoted by the purple portal in the upper right corner of the card.
• End Game Scoring: A player gains 10VP for every 5 unused Opportunities at the end of the game.
Bellow are the opportunity cards. We’ll also give some clarifications on a few of them.
“Head Shot” is an example of a Monster specific card. Be aware that a card like this targets Zombies specifically, NOT Zombie Proxies. The same goes for “Headhunter” below.
“Altruistic“, featured above, has a negative effect called “Thief”. When using “Thief” choose an opponent, have them gather their treasure, then shuffle and pick one at random.
“Faustian Deal”, the negative effect of “Blood Pact” featured to the left, refers to All heroes… Yes, that means you too.
When using “Evasion”, the negative effect of “Agile” featured to the left, the player effected by it may not change their attack card or decide to use an item to counteract it. The Assassin may use her power though.
When using “Backfire”, the negative effect of “Ambidextrous” featured to the left, any effect that would damage the targeted monster would instead damage the player. If the player would have received any defense, or health, the monster would receive those benefits instead.
“I’d Buy That For a Dollar”, the negative effect of “Ingenuity” featured to the left, refers to a “unique item”. This just means a Loot Item (not Food or Treasure).
Blessings and Curses
Blessings may be used in two different ways: they may trash a curse (remove it from the game), or they can add 3 to an attack. All Curses that are applied to a hero are -3VP at the end of the game. Each curse has instructions on how to pass it to another player.
